A VERY SPECIAL EVENT is going to take place at St. Patrick’s Church & Shrine on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. It is the 75th Anniversary of its last Pilgrimage. In 1947, it travelled from Cape de la Madeleine, at Trois Riviere, Quebec to the Peace Fountain in Windsor, ON. This time it will be done in reverse. Dennis and Angelina Girard are in charge of this tour. They founded the “Mary Devotional Movement”.
Easter is special at so many levels; Our Easter for this year looks different as well. From spending time with family to enjoying the spring weather, there’s plenty to celebrate. It is the day to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We have come a long way during this pandemic and have all had to make difficult decisions and sacrifices. . . . Recently, the Government of Ontario lifted more of the pandemic restrictions, which allows us to do so for our worship spaces, halls, and parochial and diocesan offices.
A. The following changes come into effect on Monday, 21 March.
Dear Sisters and brothers,
Greetings of Love and Peace in the name our loving God and beloved Mother Mary. We hope that you all are coping well with the new normal but still keep enjoying the rest of the summer. It gives immense joy and privilege to announce to you about resuming of our Diocesan Shrine Days of Our Lady of Rosary, together with our dedicated parishioners and generous volunteers this year.
Last year we were not able to open the Shrine at all. This year we are opening the Shrine, but with limitations due to Covid-19 protocols. The July 2nd and July 13th Shrine Days have been cancelled but we will have a modified Shrine Day on July 16th.
NEW STARTING THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 14TH
Starting the week of September 14th, the Church will have MASS said Daily 6.00 to 7.00 pm for personal prayer on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with mass following at 7.00 pm. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday the morning mass will be at 8.00am. We ask everyone to please help us out . . .
Over the last weeks we have experienced a number of positive cases of Covid 19 in our area, with a significant increase in the numbers in the past few days. This is extremely concerning to us for the Church and Shrine. Fr. Antony, Fr. Sebastin and myself, Andy Van Zelst, had a lengthy discussion concerning this increase. We had planned on having a Mass outside in the Shrine on both August 15th, The Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary, and August 22nd, The Feast Day of the Queenship of Mary. Regretfully we have decided that the best course of action to protect everyone and keep everyone SAFE is to cancel both of these Masses.
As we celebrate today the 10th year of our existence in Merlin, Canada, first of all we Thank God for the manifold blessings that He showered upon the Rosarian community.
