Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Lenten Message
LENT is a season of grace if we live it fully. Christian life is always lived with Prayer, Penance and Contemplation on the passion of the Lord. We are exhorted to live a life in communion with God and our Blessed Mother. During this season let us try our best in our faithful response to the grace of reconciliation which the Father of Mercy offers us. We turn to Him by a life of unceasing conversion and reparation, both for our own sins and for those of the whole world. The spirit of reparation is an integral part of our life; it pervades the observance of each vow, our life of silence and solitude and our Prayer.
These days we hear there are many problems, difficulties, challenges and dangers faced by people all over the world. Holy Father Francis says the war between Ukraine and Russia, and the people who are affected by the earthquake call for an urgent need of Prayer. Especially there are political and economic crisis in many countries including here in our country, the ordinary people suffer much and the entire nation faces great difficulty.
Let us be united with the Holy Father’s invitation to Pray for the Peace of the World. Let us offer all our fasting, Prayers and penance for this intention. Kindly offer a decade of Rosary during our daily holy hour for the above mentioned purpose until they end.
A big Thanks to everyone for Praying for the end of Covid-19, as it is slowly disappearing. Let us work collectively and do our best to deal with things happening in our communities, and take care of the needs and necessities of the people who are in need of physical and spiritual supports. We are answerable to God for all our words, deeds, reactions and not responding to the will of God.
Each one should do something good to the community and to the society. Do not set bad example by living one’s way and claim that we are Christians, rather live a life that our beloved Lord and saints have shown us. Let us love our vocation, life, and mission and be faithful to it. Let us live our call according to each one’s ability, without idling and doing nothing.
Wishing everyone to have a blessed Lenten Season. It is the season to be praying, fasting and almsgiving, and remember to spend more time with Jesus wherever we are.
For your kind information; here at St Pat’s we have two masses at 8am and 7pm on Ash Wednesday. We do Stations of the Cross at 6.15pm followed by mass on every Friday during Lent, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available every day before and after the mass.

Shrine Mass Cancellations
Over the last weeks we have experienced a number of positive cases of Covid 19 in our area, with a significant increase in the numbers in the past few days. This is extremely concerning to us for the Church and Shrine. Fr. Antony, Fr. Sebastin and myself, Andy Van Zelst, had a lengthy discussion concerning this increase. We had planned on having a Mass outside in the Shrine on both August 15th, The Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary, and August 22nd, The Feast Day of the Queenship of Mary. Regretfully we have decided that the best course of action to protect everyone and keep everyone SAFE is to cancel both of these Masses.
Rosarians 10th Year Anniversary
