✥ INTENTIONS

Prayers of the Week

Friday, July 4 – Prayer for Employment

God, our Father, I turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as I look for suitable employment. I need your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path, and to lead me to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. I wish to use the gifts and talents you have given me, but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment. Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant me this favor I seek so that I may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Saturday, July 5 – Family Blessing at Bedtime

Heavenly Father, Bless (name) and keep him (her) in Your love. Grant him (her) a good rest tonight, And send Your angels to protect him (her). In the Name of the Father, And the + Son, And of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Sunday, July 6 – Prayer to the Holy Trinity

Glory be to the Father, Who by His almighty power and love created me, making me in the image and likeness of God. Glory be to the Son, Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell, and opened for me the gates of heaven. Glory be to the Holy Spirit, Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism, and continues to sanctify me by the graces I receive daily from His bounty. Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity, now and forever. Amen.

Monday, July 7 – Prayer to God the Father

Almighty God, my Eternal Father, from the fullness of my soul I adore You. I am deeply grateful that You have made me in Your image and likeness, and that You ever hold me in Your loving embrace. Direct me to love You with all my heart, with all my soul, and with my whole mind. Direct me to love all Your children as I love myself. O, my Father, my soul longs to be united to You, and to rest in You forever. Have the Holy Spirit touch my soul so that I may love You as He does, and as Your Beloved Son Jesus does. Amen.

Tuesday, July 8 – Look Over Me Lord

Make me deserving of the faith that I need to get near you. Forgive my shortage and light my way to the right path. Endow me with the gift of humility and courage to confront the temptations of this world. Please Father never leave my side and give me a shield to protect against envy from others and my own self-pity. Amen

Wednesday, July 9 – Prayer for a Happy Death

O God, great and omnipotent judge of the living and the dead, we are to appear before you after this short life to render an account of our works. Give us the grace to prepare for our last hour by a devout and holy life, and protect us against a sudden and unprovided death. Let us remember our frailty and mortality, that we may always live in the ways of your commandments. Teach us to “watch and pray” (Lk 21:36), that when your summons comes for our departure from this world, we may go forth to meet you, experience a merciful judgment, and rejoice in everlasting happiness. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thursday, July 10 – Prayer to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart

Remember, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, what ineffable power Thy divine Son hath given Thee over His own adorable Heart. Full of trust in Thy merits, we come before Thee and beg Thy protection. O heavenly Treasurer of the Heart of Jesus, that Heart which is the inexhaustible source of all graces, which Thou mayest open to us at Thy good pleasure, in order that from it may flow forth upon mankind the riches of love and mercy, light and salvation, that are contained therein; grant unto us, we beseech Thee, the favours which we seek… (State your request here.) We can never, never be refused by Thee, and since Thou art our Mother, O our Lady of the Sacred Heart, graciously hear our prayers and grant our request. Amen.

Friday, July 11 – Infant Jesus of Prague Novena Prayer

O Miraculous Infant Jesus, we prostrate before Your Image and beseech You to cast your merciful look on our troubled hearts. Let Your tender Heart, so inclined to pity, be softened by our prayers and grant us that grace for which we ardently implore You. [Mention your request] Take from us all despair, all trials and misfortunes with which we are laden. For Your Sacred Infancy’s sake, hear our prayers and send us consolation and aid that we may praise You, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.

Saturday, July 12 – Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace (St. Francis Prayer)

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

INTENTIONS OF THE POPE ~ JULY 2025

For Formation In Discernment

Let us pray that we might again learn how to discern, to know how to choose paths of life, and reject everything that leads us away from Christ and the Gospel..

July is the month we honor the Precious Blood of Jesus. Falling right between June’s devotion to the Sacred Heart and August’s devotion to the Immaculate Heart, July is an ideal time to connect our devotion to Jesus and Mary into deeper gratitude for the bond they share as well as to heighten our connection to the blood of the Lamb of God.

Prayer:

O precious Blood of Jesus, infinite price paid for the redemption of sinful mankind. O Divine Blood, drink and laver of our souls, standing between us and the Father pleading mercy.

With all my heart I adore You, sweet Lord, and offer reparation for the insults, outrages and ingratitude, which You continuously receive from human beings, especially those who dare blaspheme the Divine Blood You shed for us.

Bless this Blood of Infinite value. Bless the fire of Jesus’ Love who shed it to the last drop for us. Where would I be if not for this Divine Blood that redeemed me? Indeed, Lord, I have drawn if from You to the last drop. What love! Thank You for this saving balm!

May every heart, every tongue, now and forever, praise and thank this priceless balm, this saving Blood, this fountain of crimson Mercy welling up from the fountain of infinite Love. Amen.

Litany of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ

Lord, have mercy.  Lord, have mercy.  Christ, have mercy.  Christ, have mercy.  Lord, have mercy.  Lord, have mercy.

Christ, hear us.  Christ, hear us.  Christ, graciously hear us.  Christ, graciously hear us.

God the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us.  God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.  God, the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.  Holy Trinity, One God, have mercy on us.

Blood of Christ, only-begotten Son of the eternal Father, save us.  Blood of Christ, Incarnate Word or God, save us.  Blood of Christ, of the New and Eternal Testament, save us.  Blood of Christ, falling upon the earth in Agony, save us.  Blood of Christ, shed profusely in the Scourging, save us.  Blood of Christ, flowing forth in the Crowning with Thorns, save us.  Blood of Christ, poured out on the Cross, save us.  Blood of Christ, price of our salvation, save us.  Blood of Christ, without which there is no forgiveness, save us.  Blood of Christ, Eucharistic drink and refreshment of souls, save us.  Blood of Christ, stream of mercy, save us.  Blood of Christ, victor over demons, save us.

Blood of Christ, courage of Martyrs, save us.  Blood of Christ, strength of Confessors, save us.  Blood of Christ, bringing forth Virgins, save us.  Blood of Christ, help of those in peril, save us.  Blood of Christ, relief of the burdened, save us.  Blood of Christ, solace in sorrow, save us.  Blood of Christ, hope of the penitent, save us.  Blood of Christ, consolation of the dying, save us.  Blood of Christ, peace and tenderness of hearts, save us.  Blood of Christ, pledge of eternal life, save us.  Blood of Christ, freeing souls from purgatory, save us.  Blood of Christ, most worthy of all glory and honor, save us.

Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord.  Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Lord.  Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, have mercy on us, O Lord.

V. Thou hast redeemed us, O Lord, in Thy Blood.
R. And made us, for our God, a kingdom.

Almighty and eternal God, Thou hast appointed Thine only-begotten Son the Redeemer of the world and willed to be appeased by his blood. Grant, we beg of Thee, that we may worthily adore this price of our salvation and through its power be safeguarded from the evils of the present life so that we may rejoice in its fruits forever in heaven. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

JUNE is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

We cannot truly love unless we know the love of God in Christ Jesus, for “God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.”

1 John 4:16

An Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

Most sweet Jesus, humbly kneeling at Thy feet, we renew the consecration of our family to Thy Divine Heart. Be Thou our King forever! In Thee we have full and entire confidence. May Thy spirit penetrate our thoughts, our desires, our words and our deeds. Bless our undertakings, share in our joys, in our trials, and in our labors. Grant us to know Thee better, to love Thee more, to serve Thee without faltering.
For the help of the Sacred Heart:
Take away, O my Jesus, the blindness of my heart, that I may know Thee; take away the hardness of my heart, that I may fear Thee; take away the coldness of my heart, that I may resist everything that is contrary to Thy will; take away its heavy, earthy sluggishness and selfishness that I may be capable of heroic sacrifice for Thy glory, and for the souls whom Thou has redeemed with Thy own most precious blood. Amen

Praying to Mary in the Month of May

In the month of May, we show our gratitude to mothers for all that they mean to us. For mothers who have gone to be with the Lord, we pray for their souls and thank God for their influence on our lives.

Gratefully we pray with St. Faustina:

O Mary, my Mother and my Lady, I offer You my soul, my body, my life and my death, and all that will follow it. I place everything in Your hands. O my Mother, cover my soul with Your virginal mantle and grant me the grace of purity of heart, soul and body. Defend me with Your power against all enemies, and especially against those who hide their malice behind the mask of virtue. O lovely lily! You are for me a mirror, O my Mother!

APRIL DEVOTION IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

The month of April is dedicated both to devotion to the Eucharist and devotion to the Holy Spirit.

This tradition has developed because Easter Sunday often falls in April, and when it does fall in March the Easter season continues on through all of April. In essence April is a month of Easter, and during the Easter celebration we remember the Eucharistic sacrifice Christ gave us and the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which would come after Jesus’s resurrection.

COME HOLY SPIRIT

Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blest, and in our souls take up Thy rest; come with Thy grace and heavenly aid to fill the hearts which Thou hast made.

O comforter, to Thee we cry, O heavenly gift of God Most High, O fount of life and fire of love, and sweet anointing from above.

Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known; Thou, finger of God’s hand we own; Thou, promise of the Father, Thou Who dost the tongue with power imbue.

Kindle our sense from above, and make our hearts o’erflow with love; with patience firm and virtue high the weakness of our flesh supply.

Far from us drive the foe we dread, and grant us Thy peace instead; so shall we not, with Thee for guide, turn from the path of life aside.

Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow the Father and the Son to know; and Thee, through endless times confessed, of both the eternal Spirit blest.

Now to the Father and the Son, Who rose from death, be glory given, with Thou, O Holy Comforter, henceforth by all in earth and heaven. Amen.

The month of MARCH is dedicated to St. Joseph. The entire month falls during the liturgical season of Lent which is represented by the liturgical color purple — a symbol of penance, mortification and the sorrow of a contrite heart.

ST. JOSEPH PRAYER

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.

Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father
and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy and courage,
and defend us from every evil. Amen

February Month of the HOLY FAMILY

The month of February is traditionally dedicated to the Holy Family. Between the events which marked Christmas and the beginning of Christ’s public life the Church has seen fit to recall the example of the Holy Family for the emulation of the Christian family.

The Feast of the Presentation (February 2) or Candlemas forms a fitting transition from Christmas to Easter. The small Christ-Child is still in His Mother’s arms, but already she is offering Him in sacrifice. February 21, Shrove Tuesday, will find us preparing for Ash Wednesday. The middle of the month will find us on Ash Wednesday accepting the ashes that remind us of our mortality and our need for penance.

“The Light of Revelation” shines more brightly with each successive Sunday of Ordinary Time, until its magnificence–exposing our sinfulness and need for conversion–propels us into the penitential Season of Lent. We prepare to accept the cross of blessed ashes on Ash Wednesday (February 22) and plunge ourselves into anticipating the major exercises of Lent–fasting, prayer, almsgiving–laying our thoughts and prayers on the heart of our Mother Mary. She, who offered her Son in the temple and on the Cross, will teach us how to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow after her Son.
